How a person of trust
mandate works

From the first contact to the report: a clear framework, respected confidentiality and an arrangement suited to the size of your organisation.

Based in Vevey, PORTA confiance works across the Vaud Riviera, Lausanne and Geneva, as well as remotely.

The steps of a mandate

Six steps, a framework set from the start

Each mandate is designed with you. The ground rules are set out in writing before the first request, so that both the organisation and its employees know what to expect.

  1. 01

    First conversation

You present your organisation, your needs and the arrangements already in place. Together we check that an external person of trust is the right answer.

  2. 02

    Tailored proposal

An offer adjusted to the number of employees, the sites concerned and the preferred ways of access: in person, by phone or by video call.

  3. 03

    Written agreement

A written agreement sets out the scope, the confidentiality rules, the ways of access, everyone’s role and the content of the report shared with the organisation.

  4. 04

    Informing staff

Together we present the arrangement to your teams: who the person of trust is, how to reach her, what she does and what she does not do. A service only helps if people know about it.

  5. 05

    Welcoming people

People get in touch directly, without going through their line management. I listen, help them clarify their situation and inform them of the options available. The decision remains theirs.

  6. 06

    Report and adjustments

An anonymised report (number of requests, main themes, prevention ideas) helps adjust the arrangement, without ever identifying anyone.

Confidentiality: what the organisation receives, and what it does not

Employees’ trust is what makes the arrangement work. It rests on rules that everyone knows from the start.

What the organisation receives

An anonymised, aggregated report, general prevention recommendations and, only with the explicit consent of the person concerned, the information that person chooses to share.

What the organisation does not receive

The identity of the people who made contact, the content of the conversations, and any information shared without the consent of the person concerned.

The only exception: a situation of serious and imminent danger to a person’s life or health may justify calling the emergency services. This framework is explained to everyone at the first meeting.

Independent, well-framed support

Independence

An external contact with no hierarchical link to the people who reach out. The person of trust role is separate from that of investigator: if an internal investigation is needed, it is handled as a separate mandate, to protect the trust placed in the person of trust.

Data protection

Information shared is handled discreetly and in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. Learn more.

Expertise

Lawyer, certified workplace person of trust (Ipromed), trained in listening to and supporting the individual and in investigations (CHS Alliance) and certified in mental health first aid (ensa), with over fifteen years of experience in safeguarding and handling reports.

Proximity

Meetings at your premises, in a neutral venue agreed together or remotely, across the Riviera, Lausanne and Geneva.

Let us discuss your needs
